A landmark catalogue from a landmark exhibition

July 9, 2025

If you draw inspiration from paging through beautifully-illustrated botanical art books with seemingly endless examples of outstanding contemporary and award-winning botanical works, then I have something you should know about. It’s the Society of Botanical Artists (SBA) catalogue from its recent 40th anniversary Plantae 2025 exhibition in London.

Not only is it the first botanical art exhibition catalogue to be produced in both soft and hard cover versions but it  also features some impressive numbers . . .  225 pages of over 460 paintings representing over 30 countries juried in from over 800 entries. Various mediums are represented and each is introduced by a brief explanation of the unique characteristics and presence in this art form.

This collectible catalogue in both the soft and the hard cover version is available from the SBA’s website which you can reach by clicking here.

Plantae 2025 opened at The Mall Galleries in London on May 28th to a long lineup waiting for the doors to open. It was an exceptionally well-managed exhibition in every aspect from beginning to end. I  felt privileged to be part of it and to attend in person.
